Poetry For Our Valentines

Seduce me. Write letters to me. And poems. I love poems. Ravish me with your words. Seduce me.
Anne Boleyn

I don’t want hearts, flowers, chocolates, fancy technology, a juicer (apparently currently top of mad women’s Valentines Day gift lists!!!) or a pair of frilly knickers. I don’t want wine, suspender belts, a weekend in a pretty cottage (yes I do) or  jewelry. No. Tomorrow I’m having none of that none of that because I want words that mean something. Poetry that says This is how I feel. This is how you make me feel. This is what I want for our tomorrows. This is how life feels without you. This then is what I will give and this is what I hope to receive.

And so for all the forgetful among us, for the perpetually dis-organised Valentines and the last-minute lovers, I hereby present a list of meaningful words, garnered from the never ending source of inspiration that is Pinterest, just ripe for typing, printing and framing as a truly meaningful gift designed to make us cry…

This then is romance, the way it is supposed to be done. All of it blood red with a beating heart. None of it satin or black lace.
