Written by Agnes Slight Turnball in 1888, When Queens Ride By tells the tale of a housewife down on her luck and exhausted with the effort it takes to help her husband make their homestead profitable, who has an encounter with a “queen” who with just a few well chosen words helps Jenny see the error of her ways and sets her on the path to femininity, domestic pleasure and marital joy…
Though the story is very much of it’s time and even old-fashioned me rather bristled occasionally, the message it ultimately delivers is charming, sweet and still very much relevant today…

I just looked up the Author and was surprised to learn she lived for 60 years just a few miles from where I live now!
