It’s a funny old thing. I am kind of besotted with a woman I have rarely heard speak. Unlike you lucky Americans, here in the U.K Martha Stewart is rarely seen on television so whenever I do catch a snippet of her, I am often surprised to find that she is nothing like Cybil Shepherd’s terrible portrayal of her in Martha Inc – a film I am appalled to say I have watched far too many times. (It’s on the biography channel all the time if you are interested.)
But tonight, Ladies is our lucky night. Not only is the final of Alan Sugars "Apprentice" on at nine, but if you take a hop, skip and a jump over to Discovery Home and Health thereafter, you will catch the first episode of Martha’s very own version of the show…
Hurray!
Just a pity they’ve parked it half way through the middle of "Desperate Housewives"…
Ah the joy of sky+ Alison, I'm recording both of them and will watch them tomorrow when Taylor is a Scouts!!
You know, I was musing on just this thing the other day…I have a bookcase filled with Martha magaznies and books, I can spot one of her products on ebay from quite some distance…yet I could hear her voice and would not recognise it. Oh, for Sky! How I wish!
Ah, I caught one of her shows through a shocking hangover on a final day in NY some time back. WHY can't they put her (non-Apprentice stuff) on here?
I stumbled across your blog while I was in the process of doing some online research. Martha Stewart has a number of videos and DVD's out, so maybe you can get "more" of her by watching her that way!
