"There is no use trying" said Alice "one can’t believe impossible things."
"I dare say you haven’t had much practice," said the Queen. "When I was your age, I always did it for half an hour a day. Why, sometimes I’ve believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast."
Lewis Carroll.
I love this notion! It gave me something to ponder.
Curiouser and curiouser…
I'd forgotten this one. Thanks for sharing.
I think we should all make a daily ritual of this! just like the Queen! If you can think it, you can do it!
I'd forgotten this one, too! And Alice is one of my favorite people in literature… Has been since I was little… Thanks so much for this!
My son said this morning on the way to school, "Some of those stories in the Bible are pretty hard to believe but you just have to have faith." Believing the impossible! Blessings… Polly
I love Lewis Carroll. My daughter used to read to ME Alice in Wonderland and I was amazed at the wise and witty way he wrote. Thanks, Alison.
I just read this chapter earlier this afternoon!
Hi, I dropped by for a cup of cheer and you delivered,thank-you. We in the states are going through another bout of big media control issues. I went to my school library and talked to a head librarian expecting support. I got apathy instead. Tis a sad day when libraries care little for truth and fairness in the media. Oh well I shall hand out the information myself because like art and caring, it matters.
