Mmmm, I know a person shouldn’t judge a book by it’s cover, but this looks rather yummy. Who is Jessica McClintock please? Do we like her? Does she like us?
Jessica is a California designer who started out in the late 70's, with a line of clothing called "Gunne Sax" and they were mostly floral sundresses and skirts with lacy trim and lace blouses. It was very popular and she continued to be successful for very feminine looks. She is mostly known now for her evening wear and bridesmaids gowns.
I remember her name from advertisements in my Sew Beautiful magazines from the 90's – she did very pretty, feminine dresses. Very tasteful so I think her decorating would be lovely too – and expensively done.
I remember making a Jessica McClintok skirt and blouse pattern in the 70's. It was beautiful. Now I know JM from the smell of her beautiful fragrance line.
Jessica McClintock made dresses for better department stores in the USA in the 80s, early 90's. I recall her prom dresses and frilly everyday dresses. I used to love that stuff.
We DO like her yes yes yes!!! Oh those dresses…and they weren't very expensive either! You were thinking…"oh this is gonna be $325" and you'd lift the tag and it would say $88…and you'd quickly carry the dress to the clerk and pay before anyone could set off an alarm or something.
Yes, we do. I wore her dresses for proms and parties back in the day. And her perfume was gorgeous. I always received many compliments when I wore it.
Cheers! LA
Oh My…my junior prom dress was a Jessica dress. It was so gorgeous and old fashioned with a cameo around the neck. My favorite dress ever. Thanks for the nice memories. 🙂

I loved her perfume, too. It was one that seemed like a signature scent. Alas, I think they stopped making it! She's lovely.
