Well aren’t you all just sooooo lovely? While I was hoping one of two of you would offer your opinions on what to do with BrocanteHome now I’m footloose and fancy free, the response has been wonderful and the same points have come up over and over again, namely that…
- You like BrocanteHome as it is…
- But you would like to see more Vintage Housekeeping posts…
- Book recommendations…
- Downloads for your planners…
- And the occasional peek into my house, town and inner workings!
Which is, I’m thrilled to say, exactly where I was planning to go with my site without I hope diluting the essence of all that has gone before, including personal insights, daily musings and all the other stuff and nonsense that makes up the life of a mildly eccentric, vintage housekeeping single Mummy…
(Oh and not forgetting the fact that you want MORE so I need to get my rather large bottom into gear pronto…)
I have never made it a secret that BrocanteHome is by necessity a commercial venture. It is in fact my only source of income and that tiny little income is becoming more and more important as I seek independance from Finley’s Daddy now our baby has gone to school. The Ebay, and Amazon links are part of the way I monetise the site (everytime you link to one of these sites from BrocanteHome and buy something, anything, there, I make a teeny tiny commision), but while the money is important, I remain committed to choosing books and treasure that I hope reflects who we are as Vintage HouseKeepers and continues to inspire a truly scrumptious way of life…
Since the day I accidentally deleted the entire design of BrocanteHome at the beginning of the Summer, things have admittedly been a little nutty around here. This has been due to the fact that I lost my broadband connection, had to blog from the library for a while and then had to tolerate the nightmare that was mobile broadband direct from the only place it worked (slowly)- in bed! You will thus be pleased to hear that I am now the proud owner of sensible all day speedy broadband and its all systems go, so over the next few days things might go entirely pear shaped while I organise my snazzy new navigation bar, faff with the css, and no doubt about it, bugger up the html. I just hope that your patience with me will prove to be as infinite as it always has been when the comments box does a disappearing act and the sidebars become a temporary desert…
Ok. Enough already. I will be putting the entrants to the Cath Kidston bag into the proverbial hat tomorrow afternoon and I wish you all good luck…
In the meantime I’m off to eat beans on toast. The cupboard is oddly bare. It isn’t only my site that requires a thorough seasonal scrub…
