A New Normal

The funeral was achingly simple. We stripped away the superflous until there was only all those we loved lining up to lay daffodils and freesia around my Mums coffin, a reading of This Life Mattered and Helen and I stood together reading out our memories.
And so it begins: life without my Mum. A new normal that must exist to honour all that she was and all that we will become.

  1. oh, honey. I have no words. So very heart broken for you, Finn, and Helen… And your dad. Through the magic of the Internet, I’ve come to love and know your beautiful mum. This is indeed the challenge, to live on without their daily light while we share that very light of their memory with the world. Love you forever.

  2. Having buried both my parents, I understand the difficult journey you are on. Its an inescapable part of Life, but that fact never makes it easier. Eventually we come to terms with it. Slowly, often reluctantly, but we do.
Take of you and Finn and the family.

  3. Sending you prayers and the hope that those treasured memories will bring you smiles, even through your tears-and some good old belly laughs. No one loves, knows or understands us like our mom- she will forever be with you in everything that you do.
