A New Week

I am wearing a t-shirt with holes in. I don’t know why it has got holes in but it has: perhaps I have loved it to death? Whatever. I feel obliged to take it off, but I can’t because I love it. It is warm. It is tight and black with long sleeves and it makes me feel thin and I don’t know why I am telling you this, other than I thought you should know that this is the kind of women I am: even when the things I love grow glaring horrible holes, I carry on loving them. I’m not sure that it is good for me. But hey ho, you are who you are, right?
And so it is that another week is upon is and after a weekend away from the computer I feel as if I have thirty three hundred things I need to share with you and so I’m just going to spill thought after notice, notice after thought and you are going to agree not to hold it against me ok? There is opportunity to add a permanent link to your site from Brocante at the end of the post, so read on till you get there if you please…

First up, a few changes around here:  In the sidebar you will notice a new section called “Scrumptious Little Asides”: these are short posts that won’t appear in the mainstream feed of the site, so you will need to pop over to Brocante to read them. They will mostly be links to lovely sites, books and treasure that I find as I go about my online travels and will I hope add another layer of  loveliness to the site and one more reason to make BrocanteHome your first online destination in the morning…
Next along, the RSS feed: I am going to be experimenting with a partial RSS feed, which again means that you will have to pop over to the site to read BrocanteHome, although partial posts will still appear in your RSS feed and your email in-box as and when I write them. I repeat, this is an experiment: if there is an outcry I will go back to the full feed, but please understand that BrocanteHome supports  my little boy and I, and full feeds have a dramatic impact on reader interaction…

After a crazy week spent in search of suitable shoes to dance in at the ball we attended this weekend (more of which tomorrow), I am still head to toe in mid-scrub chaos and thus, in-between shifting furniture, will be continuing to pop posts about the Seasonal Scrub on here until the end of September. As I have said a million times before, life does get so thoughtlessly in the way of housework, but better to be swung around a dance-floor to “I’ve Had the Time of My Life” with Richard than to be on my knees scrubbing the sideboards on a Saturday night, don’t you agree? So if you are feeling similarly compromised: don’t. It is life first, housework second, always. (Don’t be one of those women will you?)

Secondly, I have recruited a darling little posse of  four guest bloggers for BrocanteHome all of whom will be taking turns of piece to write columns on their very own spin on life as a Vintage Housekeeper. There are four in all, and they all have unique voices and specialities and I feel so honoured to have their agreement to write here…
I will be introducing them one by one over the next couple of weeks, so stay posted for their initial gorgeous hello’s…
And last but not least, I am in the process of conjuring up a directory full of links to all the places I believe you, my lovely Housekeepers, will find useful.
