Angry Housewives Eating Bonbons.

Bonbons

Hands up if you have read this wonderful little book? Women are just so very, very wonderful and once again Lorna Landvic manages to portray them in all their strength and glory…

You know how occasionally  you become so embroiled in the lives of your heroines you start to get their reality mixed up with yours? And when it ends it is almost as if you have lost a friend? So it is with this book.  Read it.  Join a bookclub. Eat bonbons. Expose your breasts to your stuffiest neighbour. See which of the five women you most identify with. And make it  your  mission to read all the books  mentioned at the beginning of each chapter before the year is out…

It’s kinda The Womens Room Lite. And lovely.

  1. Hi Alison, just wanted to say thanks so much for the blog award of the week! I got such a suprise this morning when reading your blog, and then spotted my bedroom wallpaper!! As yours was the very first blog I ever read and followed, it makes it an even nicer suprise! Enjoy the rest of the summer holiday-lets hope it doesn't rain too much…

  2. I am off to get that book in the morning. I can so identify with what you said. I have often felt like I have lost a best friend when I have finished a book and I do not want it to end. You get so engrossed. Trouble is, not much housework gets done!

  3. Alison~Lorna Landvik had completely slipped my mind until I saw your post! I.Love.Her! I've previously read Your Oasis on Flame Lake and Patty Jane's House of Curl. I got Angry Housewives yesteray! Thanks for the suggestion!!! 🙂

  4. I loved this book and have read it several times. I had suggested we read it in a book club I was in a few years ago. Surprisingly, most of the women didn't care for it as much as I did, in fact, one didn't like it all. She didn't feel there was any plot, but I told her that unlike a mystery where a plot is most definitely needed, this was more character driven. I have read all of Ms. Landvik's books and "Angry Housewives Eating Bon Bons" and "Patty Jane's House of Curl" are my favorites. She has a new book out called "The View from Mount Joy." I plan on buying it and reading it soon!
