At Homes…

Sometime whole weeks can go by without me laying eyes on some of my best friends. Everybody seems so busy and I do so hate to impose, and yet I suppose I wish my girl friends felt it perfectly fine to impose on me a little more often…
Not so very long ago, this situation was solved by the announcing of "At Homes"- a couple of hours one afternoon a week when ladies could be sure that their friends were both at home and perfectly willing to have visitors. Invitations would be issued and scrumptious calling cards left, and nobody ever worried that there hostess would rather be washing the dog or doing the ironing…

While the pace of life has changed since the days of calling cards and "At  Homes", there is something deliciously civilised about inviting our friends to tea ( even if it only means hopping over the wall to pop a card through our next door neighbours letter box!), serving cucumber sandwiches and French fancies and trying to ignore the noise from ones toddlers, and that is why I have created my "Fancy A Cuppa" card…

Available from Zazzle, the BrocanteHome version of the "At Home" invitation,  features a vintage  image of a cosie wearing teapot, on a background of the most fabulously shabby flowers. Costing from just $2.49, you can order a notecard or a greetings card and it is, I’m sure you will agree, a really rather lovely way to catch up on all the gossip you have missed…

Go on, invite a friend for afternoon tea…
