  1. This made me giggle too!And it takes me back to when my children were little-though I used to wonder if I was a bad mother as my son used to run away TO school!(though I must admit it was only for the first year and only because we lived right next to the school playground and he wanted to join in the fun-this phase didn’t last long!)This is not self indulgence-this is writing about real life, which we all share!

  3. Well your ‘writing practice’ is paying off. I always enjoy the way you write and today was no exception. What you say and the way you say it makes me smile so, please, keep up the good work.

  4. …love the bit about the older gentlemans aftershave! Don’t worry, you’re not the only one, it catches you unawares!I’m sure the really strong ones have some kind of (illegal) animal pheromones or somesuch. Working at the library, I have to contend with several varieties all mingling into one on a daily basis, (that’s old men AND their aftershave!)
It’s quite a heady mix, who knows, one of the old gents might get lucky one day without me even noticing that I’m in public!!! hah ha ha ha. Please keep sharing your thoughts on life, you have so many fans it’s untrue x

  5. It's somehow both exciting and frustrating to be caught unawares by those aftershaven men! Not a good combination while single. =) Blessings… Polly
