Ear Ache.

Snowy_day

Yesterday vanished in a haze of snow and soup and some horrible soul jabbing hot pokers down my ears.

I have an  ear infection that  is making me cry. And kind of scream. And sob.

It’s the oddest thing though you know. You hop on the real food revival train, order yourself a weekly organic box, abandon food like this and this, and look what happens: you are iller in one week than you have ever been in your life.

It’s a fact then: things that are good for you- aren’t.

I am so sorry.

Oh Ali, but they ARE good for you. You will find that you will get sick when you start eating better. it's your body getting rid of all the nasty stuff, and unfortunately, it comes out in yucky ways. You'll be feeling better soon hon. Don't give up.
    Big hugs to you xoxo

  5. Ohhh, poor Alison. That probably explains why you were down earlier in the week- it was the ear gremlins at work. I find it helps to put a warm towel, flannel, anything warm really gently over the sore ear. You know, when I took vitamins for the first time I went down with all sorts of nasties! Curious!

I am so sorry you are sick.. Ears and teeth seem to just drive me crazy when they hurt. So close to the brain??? dunno, but I surely do sympathize. Get better soon.

Tell Mark to run right out and get you some Similasan and the Gentle Naturals Warm Pack for earaches. If it will work for our Babbas (who can be so inconsolable with ear infections) maybe it will help you? Feel better soon. (Another way to feel better is a trick my great grandmother taught me: heat up a glass of red wine that has a touch of honey and a lemon wedge in it. You can just pop it in the microwave for a bit, no need for the stove in this day and age! If it doesn't cure the sickness, at least you'll sleep through it!)

Suzie is right, Alison. Our bodies get so use to having processed junk along with way too many chemicals, that when we start using whole, organic food – the body purges – getting rid of the chemicals & toxins. sometimes it comes out as a cold or earache. other times a headache and others as diarrhea. Eat lightly, fruits $ vegies along with lots of water and in a few days, your body will be rid of all the gunk and you will feel 100% better. Promise!! just make sure you stick to it, it really is a better way of living. xoxo

    Poor dear!
Put a drop or two of warm oil (olive or veg) in the ear for some soothing relief. For your insides, chop up a couple cloves of raw garlic small enough to swallow. Swallow like a pill with water. It's nature's antibiotic.
I like to drink hot lemonade when I'm ill too. To a mug add a couple slices of lemon and a spoon of honey and pour over with boiling water. Sip.
With all this advice, you'll be well tomorrow!

Oh Alison, You poor thing. I can totally relate as had an ear infection that lasted two months last year and I just about went batty. The real crunch came as I was so fatigued from not sleeping, as I had a constant buzzing in my ear that was like a radio on all the time in my head. So to cut a long story short, I got pulled over by the Police for erratic driving and speeding. I was just so lucky as I got a nice Police Officer who escorted me to where I needed to go and that I did not write my car and myself off. I had been to the doctor twice and had antibiotics too and was no better. Then one day my ear just popped and it was fine. People just seem to write off ear aches, but they can be totally debilitating and you can get way off balance. Lots of rest and cuddles from your babba and Mark are needed. Petah P.S. Did not want you to think I am usually a crazy driver, just the fatigue and I was about to pull over for a nap when he pulled me over first, thank goodness.

I hope you get to feeling better soon. I've been there and know your pain! I've read that lavender helps! I use a little oil on a warm washcloth for my kids and it helps them sleep a little better. Take care.
