Goodnight and GoodMorning.

Well yes, after a day spent in the palace of shopping that is the Trafford centre, I have spent too much money and distressed my son with my willingness to get a little frenzied in Selfridges Food Hall. Poor thing woke up happy as a pig in muck (which is I think a rather apt description of my house at the moment) and has gone to bed white as a sheet and thoroughly appalled by a Mummy and Daddy too busy stuffing themselves with sushi to spoil him rotten as he has come to expect…

His urge to consume has kicked in. From the horrible question he greets my mum with,  (What you got in your bag Nana?), to the fact that he cannot pass anything remotely like a toyshop without nearly climbing over my head to get to it, and then demanding to take anything and everything home with him, the child is an advertisers dream…

I wasn’t going to be one of those Mothers.

He wasn’t supposed to be one of those kids.

But then perhaps the sight of me having kittens over the scrumptiously, delicious new Lisbeth Dahl line at Selfridges wasn’t setting a particuarly good example.

Must stop spending money I haven’t got…

My girls lurve the Trafford Centre (Bear Factory and ice-cream!).I can't be doing with crowds and where are the thrift shops?lol!!Sounds like you had a lovely day.I'm sure you deserve spoiling the rough time you had recently.I bet you had birthday money to spend anyway?

Kristy, it was walking past the blasted bear factory that caused his strop. I only go because I adore Selfridges. And we never, ever go at weekends…

Alison, I do know what you mean! As I am also guilty of spending what I don't have, I've decided to get myself under control by following the "Simple Sparrow" concept of April being "Use What You Have" month. They're talking about craft supplies but I'm applying it to other areas of my life as well. The webs site is:
    Hope this helps!
