  1. When I start feeling like this, I start to reflect on my past. There will always be earthquakes in our lives that knock us off balance, but really, everything works itself out. Life doesn't always turn out the way we want it to, or threatens us with challenges that we can't even begin to imagine how we will get through, and it sucks. All those things pass, though, and when we come out on the other side we realize that we have survived and that all is still okay. I used to worry about a lot of things that I ended up not having to worry about at all. It really affected myself and my family negatively. Now I have learned to step back, focus only on where I am and what I am doing in the present, and then if I am confronted with a situation that I have to contend with, I will take care of it then. Keep your focus. Keep meditating. You're going to be fine, Alison.

  5. Such a heartwrenching Mummy-moment, watching little boy curls fall to the floor. Their very faces seem to change shape.
    I took my 8 yr old son to the dentist with toothache this week intending to get an appointment for him, but she casually brought out a pair of pliers and whipped the sad little baby molar out… I nearly fainted, but William was not phased at all! He just chewed on my rapidly reddening handkie for the rest of the shopping errands and proudly displayed the gory hole to all who were foolish enough to enquire!!
