Postsecret

Other peoples secrets are so utterly compelling. Heartbreaking, funny and almost without exception, truths you will recognise, but would not care to admit…

So ok, I don’t take a hammer to the dishes, but there are a few items in the dishwasher that must have been washed a thousand times because I never put them away. I just leave them there. Sparkly clean and pointless.  Because I don’t know where they came from, or where they go and I am too lazy to invent a place for them to live.

I am a disgrace to housewifery. But I bet we’ve  all got a few slovenly secrets shoved under the carpet haven’t we…?

Feel free to confess your sins. Bet you wouldn’t dare.

  1. I am the infamous stuffer of items in my bedside table. I shove everything in there… I just swoop those nasty little items like hair pins into my drawers and then rather than go and search for them, I purchase new ones.
    Sigh. I am terrible.

ok, here goes, I detest cleaning the oven and leave it as long as I can.

  5. "… disgrace to housewifery". Whatever next. You are a good housewife. I try to be too.
My little secret is the same as Amy: the oven!

I was enthralled by that sight. At first I thought it may be the work of a conceptual artist, but how wrong I was. A fascinating look at the human psyche and all its fears. Very Twin Peaks, Alison! Thank you for something rather illuminating.

I sometimes put things back in the washing basket because I can't be bothered ironing them or I'm not sure whether or not I want to keep them… There are things at the bottom of my washing basket that I must confess have been there for… ahem… years?? Mr Washalot is starting to notice and I fear my secret is out…

I have to confess, I don't mind doing the laundry. But I hate putting the clothes away! How silly is that.

I hate ironing and tend to leave things until my husband complains that he hasn't seen a certain item in weeks (because they're in the ironing pile).
I do a lot of "straightening" and while I love cleaning products, cleaning sites and cleaning books, I truly hate the act of cleaning.

  12. Zabrina says:

Me too, I hate that oven. Hubby cleans it for me. I also leave clothing at the botton of the basket for several weeks!!!

  13. I'm with Helen. Clothing that has been lingering at the bottom of the ironing basket, since we moved into this house in January. I also sneak in the occasional teaspoon of Milo. Just love it raw and used to eat it hidden under my bed as a child.
