I Enjoy Being A Girl by Doris Day.
Because she is the epitome of everything wholesome in the 50’s and the sassy housewife we all want to be. Because I Enjoy Being A Girl contains the slightly dubious but nevertheless, immortal lines " I adore being dressed in something frilly, when my date comes to get me at my place. Out I go with my George, John or Billy, like a filly who is ready for the race!". Hmmm. Because I too adore my curvy silhouette (Well, sorta…). Because Doris Day is in all my favorite films. Because we are cultivating happiness and being happy about being a girl seems to me to be a terribly good place to start…
Ohh fun, fun. I have to tell you Alison you have completely addicted (and a bit of crush)to Mika and grace Kelly song. I can NOT get it out of my head.
Thank you ; -)
When I was a little girl in the '60's I used to play Doris Day. She was a secretary on t.v. and I always wanted to be her. Her smooth voice was so pretty and so was her face. It was always fun to find her on some talk show and get to know the real her a little bit.
Just watched Pillow Talk today while I was folding laundry.
Love, Love, Love Doris Day!
One of my favorite Doris Day movies is "The Thrill Of It All".
Surely I was born 30 years too late!
I adore Doris Day, I love ALL of her films….
Curvy is good!
One of the last of the great movie queens, Doris Day. Write to the Oscars and DEMAND that she receive a lifetime achievement Academy Award.
