  1. So my love, my nails were painted red already in honour of the season and I have already been reading A Christmas Carol – are we two peas in a pod? Have also made a run to the DVD shop and bought a few favourite Christmas DVDs, Home Alone, Nightmare Before Christmas, Polar Express are all waiting for us. xxxx

  2. Thanks Alison for your kind and motivating words! I now, with your words stuck on my fridge I feel like I can handle this Christmas!

  3. no.2 is so true .. well they all are actually! Hubby and I last year agreed that the stress of trying to find stocking fillers far outweighed the fun of actually keep the tradition going but I feeling rather guilty that our fluffy reindeer and santa-dog stockings never get out of the decorating box 🙁

  4. I'm dealing with extra shifts at work, a rotten cold, an over-worked, stressed out husband and the imminent arrival of some very large bills this month.
So frankly, I'm just looking forward to being able to collapse in bed with a bottle of bubbly and "Miracle on 34th Street" on the bedroom tv. I may never re-immerge! I love your tips Alison. I'm going to try to incorporate them into my own holiday planning.

  5. Oh this is truly wonderful post! I'm so guilty of wanting a perfect Christmas!
Your countdown made me giggle especially 'mad cow in the reindeer earrings who wants to get the party started at the first sniff of a tumbler of sherry.'!
Merry Christmas Alison & everyone who drops by.

  6. Thank you so much for that post. I needed it very much. I thought I had everything all set for a perfect Christmas, but then we became aware of a family in dire circumstances and alot of my emotional energy and time has gone to helping them. The warm bathrobes and fuzzy flannel jammies I have meant to make for my children are still waiting for me to sew them together. I keep telling myself that helping others is really what Christmas is about. Your post has helped me to let go of some of the guilt.
    Thank you,

  7. THANK YOU! I've been driving myself mad with lists and "must do"s. As of today, I am taking your advice, and just enjoying it all.
Store bought will do fine for once. 🙂
