August is the month with one foot in the garden and the other already wandering towards autumn. The tomatoes are scandalously ripe, the evenings are beginning to fold in a little earlier, and everything feels abundant, dusty, overgrown and very nearly too much.

The August Domestic Almanac is a richly illustrated A4 collection of seasonal reading, curious diversions, domestic inspiration and proper old-fashioned paper play. It’s designed to be printed, scribbled upon, cut up, coloured in, left beside the bed and slowly inhabited throughout the month.

Inside you’ll find thoughtful pages for the home, kitchen and imagination, the gloriously abundant August Cabinet,  and an entire Playground section filled with cut-out dolls, tokens, a paper fortune teller, intricate colouring pages and a cut-out-and-keep fan for those afternoons when even the curtains appear to be perspiring.

There are pages to keep, pages to play with, places for uncatalogued thoughts and a quiet closing ritual for deciding what August gave you, what you’ll carry forward and what may now be abandoned without ceremony.

Expect blackberries, books, swallows, scissors, ribbons, peculiar women, handwritten scraps, household evidence and the faint suspicion that ordinary life might be much more interesting than we’ve been led to believe.
