The House of Me

£12

A monthly practice for becoming more at home in your own life

(Buy it today or get it FREE as part of your subscription to The Atelier)

The House of Me is an 18-page illustrated monthly reflection practice from BrocanteHome, designed to help you notice what is flourishing, what feels a little off, and where you might want to place your attention next.

Instead of treating your life as one enormous problem to solve, you wander through it room by room.

There is a Kitchen for nourishment and energy. A Bedroom for rest. A Drawing Room for friendship. A Study for purpose and curiosity. A Dressing Room for body and identity. A Hall for practical life. A Parlour for pleasure. A Garden for possibility. An Attic for memory and letting go. A Hearth for home itself.

And behind another door, there is the Secret Room: the private self that belongs entirely to you.

Once a month, you answer a handful of gentle questions in each area according to how life has actually felt lately.

From those answers comes your House Measure.

Not a grade. Not a target. Not a challenge to improve.

Just a snapshot.

A way of saying:

Ah. So this is how it feels to live here just now.

The pages are intentionally beautiful — cream paper, botanical details, watercolour rooms, handwritten notes and little brass keys — because I believe reflection can be useful without looking like it escaped from Human Resources.

But underneath the prettiness is a surprisingly revealing way to see where life feels nourishing, where it feels depleted, and where one small part of your life may be colouring the whole thing.

There are no rules about how to use it.

Print and bind the whole booklet. Print only the pages you need. Stick pieces into your Commonplace Book. Use pencil and return to the same copy each month, rubbing out your answers while keeping your yearly House Measure at the back.

Make it ceremonial.

Make it scruffy.

Do it with tea and candles.

Do it while eating toast.

This is Woman’s Club. You can do whatever you want.

The point is simply to return once a month and notice.

Because over time, patterns appear.

You begin to see what sustains you, what drains you, what changes with the seasons, and where you feel most — or least — at home in your own life.

The House notices. The woman chooses.
